Thanks to iTelescope.net for providing the data for NGC 4945 as part of their membership benefits. NGC 4945 (also known as Caldwell 83) is a barred spiral galaxy in the constellation Centaurus, visible near the star Xi Centauri. The galaxy is thought to be similar to the Milky Way Galaxy, although X-ray observations show that NGC 4945 has an unusual energetic Seyfert 2 nucleus that might house a supermassive black hole.
The data was provided as 36×900 second exposures split as 9 images of each Luminance, Red, Green and Blue. Each .FIT is provided fully calibrated with darks, Bias and Flats.
I’ve stacked the data using pixinsight with final tweaks with Photoshop.
Thanks for looking
Steve
