Jupiter 15th Feb 2013

Date

After a fantastic night imaging the moon I was about to close the observatory roof for the evening when I looked up and saw Jupiter overhead, and the seeing looked reasonable for a change. I swapped over to the DFK 21AU618.AS Colour camera (which has inbuilt UV/IR block).

Scope used was a Meade 12″ LX200R, captured with IC capture at 60fps, and the resultant 3600 processed through AVIStack2 (800 frames used (top 20% quality). Just the luck of the draw, I managed to capture three moons and a moon shadow transit in the image (hover your mouse over for some details).

Thanks for looking, Steve
